Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Movie Review

In this latest adventure Sean Anderson (played by Josh Hutcherson) gets a coded message from a mysterious island where no island exists.

The movie stars Josh Hutcherson reprising his role as Sean Anderson from the first movie. Dwayne Johnson as Hank (Sean's stepfather). Michael Caine as Alexander Anderson. Luis Guzman as Gabato. Vanessa Hudgens as Kailani.

I absolutely loved the first movie, so finding out that they made a sequel made me extremely happy. Well, not to mention that it also has my favorite actor in it (Josh Hutcherson). Adding Dwayne Johnson to the cast was a nice touch, too. This movie is a sequel, not a remake. I think there was confusion a little bit about that seeing as Brendan Fraser wasn't in this one. But, don't worry, it's a sequel. :)

This movie is as adventurous and exciting as the first movie.

The location they picked on filming for the island part was very gorgeous. It was filmed in Hawaii and I think that was the perfect place.

When I first watched the movie, I have to admit that it was a little predictable, though. But it was still a fun movie.

I thought the special effects were pretty cool, too. I thought they did a great job. And I had to see it in 3D and I didn't mind the 3D, either because these films are automatically made for 3D (not an after thought).

At the end of the movie, they set it up to make a 3rd one and I hope that they will. I just love these movies. Ok, mainly because of my favorite actor, but hey, they are still fun movies, too.

If you loved the first one, you'll more then likely love the second one. :) The movie is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray (and there's also a 3D version if you have a TV for it). Here's the trailer for the movie:
