Robert Downey Jr. is back as Sherlock Holmes in the newest adventure. Jude Law also returns as Dr. John Watson. This time, they are up against Professor Moriaty who is Sherlock Holmes' intellectual equal. The story takes Watson and Holmes out of London and they go to places such as Europe, to France and Germany and then ends up in Switzerland. If they don't stop Professor Moriaty and if his plan carries out, it would change the course of history.
Now keep in mind, this movie is very long, it felt like it anyways and I was a bit confused in certain parts. But over all, I enjoyed it more the first one. I have to admit that I thought the first one was a little scary. But I found myself enjoying this one more.
I thought each actor did great at his/her part. But Robert Downey Jr. was the best, I thought. At first, I wasn't really a fan of his acting, but after I saw "Avengers", I'm becoming more of a fan of his. He is a really great actor.
The special effects were amazing in this movie! I especially loved all the cool fight sequences with all the like slow motion (in a way, not really though, don't know how to describe it). That was really cool. And there's a shooting part towards the end that is just awesome with the camera angles and the special effects there as well.
There is a bit of a twist at the end of the movie, though. I won't say what it is, though. But it sure got my attention.
Very little sexual stuff in the movie. One scene you see a guy naked, but nothing is showing. Other then that, I guess there could be some innuendoes, but I didn't catch very many if any. There's very little language in it as well.
Very interesting movie and I think you have to pay more attention to it then I was in order to understand more of what was going on. :) But it's worth a watch. Especially if you liked the first one. Here's the trailer for the movie:
This movie is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray! :)
Nice review! Downey Jr is truly a marvellous actor. He plays both Tony Stark and Sherlock Holmes really well.
ReplyDeleteI too loved 'A Game of Shadows'. Check out my review .
Cheers!
