One of the best books I have read in a long time! My sister got it for me for Christmas and I was a little nervous to read it since I had no idea what it was about or even if I would like it. But I finally decided to read it (mainly because I had nothing else to read) and I was just gonna read 2 pages, but I ended up reading the first chapter that night! It was so addicting right off the bat and it really catches you attention. I didn't think I'd love it, but by the end of it, I couldn't wait to read book #2. And boy what a cliffhanger in the book, too. It's been a couple months since I read it, so I will try and remember it as best as I can. But I just gotta say, I'm glad that I just made myself read it without really knowing what it was gonna be about. Turns out to be one of my favorite series. Well, this and the Hunger Games of course. :)
So, let's talk about what the book is about first. Clary, is the main character in the book. She gets involved with shadowhunters. It's a very interesting story. She is able to see stuff that she isn't supposed to see and doesn't know why she can see the stuff that only shadowhunters are allowed to see, but she later finds out why. Jace is the lead shadowhunter that gets involved with Clary and trying to figure out what her story is.
Shadowhunters: People who hunt down demons, vampires, etc. There are three that are involved in the book.
Jace is probably my favorite character in the book. Well, it's between Jace and Simon (Clary's best friend).
But boy what a twist and a cliffhanger at the end! I just bought book 2, so I am gonna start that tonight to find out what happens! :)
The book is very exciting and so addicting. Once you start reading it, you don't want to stop. There's love (and of course, a love tringle as well), mystery and action.
