Hotel Transylvania & Cold Light Of Day Movie Reviews

I saw two movies these past two days. One I liked way more then the other, but I'll say what they are about before I give my opinion on them.

Hotel Transylvania:

Dracula (Adam Sandler) builds this hotel (thus the name Hotel Trasylvania) for the monsters where no humans have ever entered the hotel, until now. He invites all the worlds best monsters because it's his daughters, Mavis (Selena Gomez) 118th birthday. But then, the human arrives. Johnny (Andy Samberg) somehow stumbled onto the place and that's where the story begins.

Cold Light Of Day:

Will Shaw (Henry Cavill) goes on a family vacation. But when he goes into town one day, he comes back to find that his family has been kidnapped and the bad guys who are after a mysterious briefcase.

My Opinions:

Now in my opinion, I thought "Cold Light Of Day" was boring. Normally, I love action movies, but I thought the story line was kind of vague and a little hard to keep up with. Also, when a sad thing happens to one of the characters at the beginning (not gonna say who it was because it's kind of important what happens), I'm kind of thrown throughout the rest of the movie. Let me just say, you aren't expecting it to happen, either, so be prepared! So, that could have been partly why the movie didn't hold my attention.

However, I loved Hotel Transylvania! Of course, I'm a Selena Gomez fan, so I just had to see it. I thought she did great at doing a cartoon voice. Never seen her in that kind of role before. It was a great family movie. I'm so buying this one!

They are both out on DVD/Blu-Ray now.

  1. There's a good chance that children under 10 will find "Hotel Transylvania" entertaining, because it's as non-threatening as can be and the jokes are obvious. There's an equally good chance that everyone else will wander off . . . :D
