Man Of Steel is the newest Superman installment. They've had trouble with trying to remake this movie for years and I'm not really sure why. I love Superman, so I see all the newest remakes. But let me tell you, this is the best remake ever! Maybe because Christopher Nolan is part of it helped. I've loved almost everything I've watched of his movies and he did excellent at reviving this one.
The casting was awesome. Especially Amy Adams as Lois. But let's not forget to mention the Man Of Steel himself: Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent. I thought that he has looked like all the actors before him. You also see certain flashbacks of Clark as a younger child where he learned about himself. I thought each stage we saw him was very well casted. I also enjoyed who they got to play his Mom and Dad (both Dads did really well). Even though they cast Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, I thought he did an awesome job at him. Though, he had very little screen time.
For those who haven't seen any of the Superman movies/shows or read any books about him, don't worry, there was major backstory in this movie. Almost a little too much for my taste, but that's just because I knew all of it already.
Instead of Lex being the bad guy however, they've gone with Zod. Excuse me, General Zod. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to give anything away.
Kind of cool watching this after watching the full series of "Smallville" (that's where I really started to love Superman and learned of his backstory there) because there were settle hints about his past life in flashbacks that I'm sure all comic book readers of the series would catch, but I only caught it because of watching "Smallville", so I thought that it was just a cool thing to throw in there.
This is very intense, but if you weren't sure about seeing it because of what happened with the "Superman Returns" remake, then let me tell you, you won't be disappointed. I was a little nervous watching this newest one because I heard they changed a few things, but there weren't that many changes to the story.
This movie made me fall in love with Superman all over again, so I highly recommend it!
