I've said this before, but I'll say it again. I am so glad I have decided to stick with this show! This episode was well worth the wait. The show was rocky at first, but I feel like they are finally getting their footing. I feel like the cast is working better together now and are bonding more and in return, I feel like I'm bonding with them more. This one left us with quite a cliffhanger! Though the preview for the episodes to come, kind of spoiled it, so I probably shouldn't have watched it, but yeah.
Centipede is back and breaks someone out of jail! Why was he so important? He turns out to be someone they really needed who knows a psychic or something. I wasn't quite sure what their relationship was. But they are still trying to perfect what they did with Peterson. Remember him? He's back! No one is thrilled about him being back at all, since he is there to help the team out. Only because he can't be trusted and last time he was a walking death bomb basically. But whatever Fitz and Simmons shot him with, helped him stabilize.
Coulson is worried about Peterson, though. Like why he hasn't seen his son and such. Peterson said that he is afraid of what his son will think because his son saw him be bad and Peterson has to figure out if he wants to be an agent or a father. Coulson had to make that choice.
To make a long story short, Centipede finds out that Peterson is working with S.H.I.E.L.D. and that Coulson is alive and well and they are curious to find out why. So much so, to the point of Raina kidnapping Peterson's son! We think that the trade is going to be between Peterson and his son. They get the son back, but Centipede gets Peterson. This is where they throw us one of those twists (which is the first time for this show). Peterson actually agreed to a completely different plan! To give up Coulson instead of himself! Everybody was shocked. But that's not all. There is a happy father/son reunion. But Peterson realizes his mistake and goes to make it right. However, Centipede has bombed the bridge and blows everything up and shoots Grant! What? Grant, my favorite character got shot? No! He better not die. He's like one of the big stars (besides Coulson) of the show. Don't kill him off!
We can breath easy for Coulson, though. Yes, he's still kidnapped, but they got out before the bridge blew. They are interested in Coulson to find out what exactly happened to him after he died. A mystery that Coulson is willing to learn as well, but not give it to the hands of an evil crime boss. That's how it ends. It was a time like this that I was happy I waited a while to get caught up on this show. I already had the next one recorded, but we still couldn't watch it the night I watched this one.
Could there start to be some rift between Grant and Melinda? Melinda was upset that she thought that Grant saved her in a fight earlier in the episode. When in turn, it wasn't actually what happened. But then when Grant said he knew she could take care of herself, it looked like that wasn't the response she was looking for. I still don't really agree with this couple, but we will see how it goes.
What a cliffhanger, right? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments below!
