The race is on to save Skye from the horrible gun shot wounds and they get her to a medical center, but they can't do much for her there, except to just make her comfortable until she dies!
So, Coulson wants to try to figure out what they did to him so that they could do the same for Skye. Why would he want to put her through something like that? But maybe at this point, it's all they have to help save her. I'm just surprised that he wanted to put her through that since he had a hard time with it.
I am surprised to hear myself say this, but I am finally warming up and even starting to like Melinda! This took almost half the season for me to finally warm up to her, but in this episode, I don't know what changed, but something did. Maybe it's because we saw a bit of a softer side or maybe it was because she actually does like Skye. My all time favorite scene was when Melinda went into the interrogation room and beat up Ian Quinn! I think she would have killed him right then and there if Coulson hadn't come in and stopped her.
The plot thickens with the whole Coulson story, though and gets super weird at the end, but I'll get to that in a minute. First, he has Fitz and Simmons read through the file to learn what they can do to Skye, but the more research they do, the more they learn that the file was actually fake. Or at least not telling the full truth because the lab where Coulson thought he was at, he really wasn't, but was in some off grid place that Fitz and Simmons eventually find out.
So, they go there to see if they can find someone who could help Skye and when they finally get in, they are surprised to learn that no doctors ever stay there! But it is guarded by two people who know what to do if they get ambushed. The team had to break their way in, since the two guards wouldn't let them come in and a shoot out happens and all that fun stuff. But what else was fun to see is that Fitz was being brave! Kind of cool to see that side of him.
They do get in and try to find something that could be helpful for Skye. The medicine that helped Coulson is what they are after and they do find it! But what's weird is that where they find it at, Coulson stays behind to look at stuff he found. Something labeled Tahiti. We don't know what it is (yet), but whatever it was, when Garrett (yes, two new agents are introduced, Garrett and Triplett) goes and gets him when they have to leave since the whole building is gonna explode, it looked like Coulson saw a ghost!
What happened to Coulson in there? Well, whatever it was, made him not want to give the medicine to Skye. It was too late, but it worked! Why didn't he want her to have it? Why is he acting so strange? Well, we finally see in a flashback what he saw down there. He opened the container and at first, I totally thought we were gonna see another him in the container and was totally creeped out by what we actually saw. An alien! That's where they got the medicine from! So now, Coulson and Skye have alien in them! Is this gonna be a bad thing? Also, Grant now knows what happened to Coulson, too. I didn't realize he didn't know yet.
