Loved the episode, up until the point they dropped that horribly sad news about one of my favorite characters. Ok, remember when we learned Grant was truly bad? Well, be prepared, it's worse then that. For me it was anyways. I don't know how that could possibly be, seeing as Grant was and still is my favorite character. Anyways, let's talk about the rest of the episode first, which was pretty amazing up until that one little bit of news that threw me off and makes me wonder "Will I even like season 2 or not?".
New characters! Who might not have lasted too long and a new bad guy who's body can change into anything he touches. Yes, it's as scary as it sounds and Grant knows him. I don't know why Coulson thought it was a bright idea to send Skye down there now after all this time, but he did since Skye is the only one Grant said he'd talk to. So, that means, he evidently has feelings for her, but supposedly from Skye, her feelings of him are all gone. Or it could just be something she says because she's still mad at him. I mean, could you blame her? It would be hard to get over something like that. I hope their relationship warms up some because it sounds like Grant has news on Skye's father! That was one of the surprises they threw at us. Since there's sound down there and Coulson was watching, does Coulson know Grant has news on her father and how does he even have news on Skye's father?
I get the feeling that Triplett likes Skye, but I'm not sure if that feeling is mutual. I also got the feeling that one of the new guys likes her as well and she might have feelings for him, but only time will tell on that one.
The teams job is to find Carl (the guy that can turn into anything), save the general who doesn't trust Shield and find the 084 that we saw at the beginning in the flashback clip. Which we now know why people either wanted it or were afraid of it. Izzy touched it and her hand, well, not even sure how to describe what her hand did. All it mainly did was slowly killing her, so one of her agents cut her arm off (gross!) because she didn't want to die. Well, so much for that because in a matter of seconds, Carl, literally stopped the car with his body and sent it flying. One guy made it, but how will he get out? Is Izzy really dead?
Wow, is pretty much how I felt after Coulson dropped that bomb about Fitz. All those sweet moments of FitzSimmons weren't actually happening. They were all in his head! He also lost some of his IQ or something. Not totally sure what is going on with him. All that I know is that Simmons left her best friend who really needed her. If she ever came back, Coulson is afraid it would make it worse on Fitz. What else was gut wrenching was that Coulson doesn't have any faith in Fitz on getting better. Which probably doesn't help that situation.
It looks like Coulson is trying to build up Shield again, which is pretty amazing and it seems like it's working. However, it seemed like at the end, they could have found more Hydra agents as well. At least, that's what I got from the red dotes that started popping up on the screen.
My big question on the cliffhanger, though, is how did that guy from 1945 never die and more importantly never age?!
