Am I the only one who didn't totally enjoy this episode? It wasn't bad, but it wasn't like the past episodes. I mean, Skye's journey on figuring out how to deal with what she's become is kind of interesting, but it doesn't totally grab my attention. Maybe it's because I have never read any comics, so I don't know how important her character might eventually be, but I don't know. Maybe it's just me.
The whole Cal and the band of misfits wasn't all that interesting. I get that Cal is seeking after Coulson for revenge and trying to get as many people on his side that Coulson has wronged, but still, it just wasn't that great. But I guess once in a while, a show has to have a stinker. I'm not saying this episode was a total stinker, but it was kind of close.
Ok, did I call it or what? The whole thing that Mack and Bobbi were secretly being apart of. I mean, that didn't come as a major surprise that I guess it should have come across as one. But by now, everybody knows the secret and more, probably, seeing as I'm like a month behind on the show. That they are in fact helping build S.H.I.E.L.D. but under someone who's obviously not Coulson. Why would someone want to do that to Coulson who's already been an awesome leader from the beginning?
One of the things I find kind of annoying this season, is that where in the world is Grant? His story almost seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, not to mention him. Even if he is bad and not totally trustworthy, there's just something about him that I miss. So, please, please bring him back soon.
I've gotta say that the best part of the whole episode had to be meeting the mysterious doctor who in turn was actually May's ex! That was a shock. They worked well together, so why did they ever get a divorce? Well, some things made it seem kind of obvious. Both seemed to be married to their job instead of each other, but still, it was cool to see May interact with someone like that (no, I'm not counting Grant as someone like that who is obviously a sore spot on May's mind). But because of the doctor, they realize that Skye hasn't really been controlling her powers like she thought she was. Instead, she's just keeping them to herself, which is going to do some serious harm to herself and even to others when it gets out. So, what's Skye's fate with the rest of the team? Well, by now people might know, but I just have to watch the rest of the episodes to get caught up and hopefully will find out and know what everybody else knows. In other words, please no spoilers. :)
