Hawaii Five-0 "E 'Imi pono (Searching for the Truth)" Episode Review

*Review contains spoilers, so read at your own risk!*

Danny is back! Finally! It's been too long since I've heard that lovely banter that I have missed dearly between Steve and Danny and they brought it within the first five minutes of the show and it continued throughout the whole episode. What is Danny upset about this time? Well, somehow, he's getting Grace's texts on his phone. Which means, he's starting to realize how much she's growing up, since she's talking to a boy she has a crush on. It is Valentine's Day, so love is in the air, but Danny just wasn't quite ready for this. What parent isn't? But still, Steve and Danny bantering, nothing gets better then this.

But wait, it does. The case itself was pretty exciting. Could this mean that the stinkers of the past might be just that...in the past and that the show is returning to it's former glory? Or am I just saying that too soon and it gets bad again? I sure hope not. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the episodes each week, but there's just something missing this season that I'm not quite sure what it is. But I feel like they are slowly getting back to that and I'm hoping it stays that way.

Oh right, the case. A journalist dies but who would be after him since it seems that he hasn't worked on anything new in years and he seems to be a bit not all there, since some cryptic writing was found written on him and on every inch of his walls in the apartment? Cue in Jerry! Who actually found something out of all that mess that led to the truth. That a terrorist that Julius (the dead guy), helped save two little boys from a long time ago, is in fact alive and seeking revenge. It looks like he got it, but where is this dangerous criminal in the city and what's his get out of the city plan?

I love it when they somehow find a place for all the characters on the show. For a while there, I was thinking that Kono was just going to be a voice on the phone, but I was wrong when she showed up in their building helping with the case and she in fact saved Steve, too. Who, like always, does something stupid in order to save the day himself. They finally find the criminal, but he's taken hostages and one got shot. So Steve has to go in unarmed! I'm thinking no one knew that Kono was on the roof or maybe they did and they were thinking that he was still being stupid for going in there unarmed. But if it wasn't for her, Steve probably would be dead.

Valentine's Day party at someone's house. I don't think it said who's house, but I'm assuming it was Grover, since he was making the dinner. Heart shaped burgers, how cute was that? It was evident that Jerry liked Max's assistant, Dr. Shaw from the beginning of the episode. They both had kind of the same views on Valentine's Day. I'm not sure how long their relationship will last, but it was cute that she didn't turn him down when he went over to her. We aren't exactly sure what was said, but it looked like Jerry and Dr. Shaw will have plans for Valentine's Day.
