Well, I Finally Watched "Vampire Diaries"....

And you know what, I actually liked it. I'm sure you are probably wondering what took me so long in finally watching this show that already seems really cool after just one episode? Well, there's a good explanation for that. Ok, maybe not a good explanation, but it's the only one I've got. The main explanation being, is that I thought it was a complete knock off of Twilight and I really don't like knock offs, so I avoided it as much as possible. But lately, I've been in the mood for a good Vampire show. I've watched a couple of shows in the past and they were good in the beginning, but got way too dark and violent for me. My sister watches it and so I thought I'd try it.  And a coworker was talking about it the other night at work and it really made me want to get into it. Even though now once I have, it'll be harder to see Elena go at the end of season 6 because I already really like her character. Of course, I am only in one episode, so I'm not sure all what happens between then and now.

The episode did feel a lot like Twilight, but I've gotta admit that the vampires seemed more, vampirey, I guess. I'm not sure how to describe it. I'm not bashing Twilight in anyway because I am Team Edward, but still, even Stefan falling in love was just a little different. For those who've watched both, I'm sure you'll get what I'm trying to say.

Right now, I'm leaning more towards liking Stefan. Damon seems like the evil brother out of the two. Ok, they are vampires, but you know what I mean. 

It must be a good sign that I want to watch another episode even after just one episode. That doesn't happen too often and especially since not much story line has happened yet. In the beginning, I was thinking, seriously? They've added two things that are already creepy and just made it even more creepy. A crow and fog? Like really, it just had to be a crow? Which probably is one of the scariest birds ever. 

But in the end, I was just pleasantly surprised at how the first episode went. Not at all what I was expecting. I'm hoping that more into the season, it'll become less like Twilight and more like it's own show and I can't wait to find out.
