Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. "Purpose in the Machine" Episode Recap

*Review contains spoilers, so read at your own risk!*

I love the fact that Fitz hasn't given up on finding Simmons. Even though everybody tells him to give up. He won't. He won't let go of the girl he loves and he'll do anything to find her. But it becomes a bit hard when they find out that no one has ever returned from that thing.

It's ok that May is taking time for herself to be with her dad, but I still don't understand why she's doing what she's doing. Maybe that's why everybody, even her dad, is confused as to why she has taken a break, when it's clear that she still loves to do what she does. Is she perhaps having second thoughts as to having a personal life or is there something deeper going on in her? It was still nice to see her out of her normal eliminate. Didn't last too long, since Hunter showed up asking for help on how to find Grant.

Daisy wants to start a team of inhumans and so that's where May's ex-husband comes in. He checks them out and gives Daisy an ok if they are good to join the team. From the sounds of it, he has never given the ok. It's either because of the person themselves not ready with their powers, or it could also be because he's worried about Daisy and Shield itself. Thinking the place isn't a good place for someone just coming into new powers. But how does he know unless he gives someone a chance for Daisy to work with?

If it wasn't for Daisy's awesome power and her being able to control it, she would have never been able to save the day and get Fitz and Simmons back! For a second there, I was thinking they were both gone, until the dust settled down and there they were. In the bottom of where that alien thing used to be. But for some reason, I half expected to see some part of it still there moving around, like it's not gone. I guess it could be destroyed, but I don't know why I don't think it is.

I didn't totally understand what all Grant was doing with that kid he was kidnapping, but it was because the kids dad used to be in charge of Hydra! Grant just wanted to see what he was capable of since the kid didn't seem like much. But man, he is pretty creepy. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this situation. Grant put the kid undercover in college! The same college that May's ex works at! Grant clearly has him there for a reason.
