Movie Review: Men In Black International

The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization (info taken from IMDB.com).

I wasn't really planning on seeing this movie but it just sort of happened. And while no one can replace Will Smith and the original movies, this one was quite fun. Of course, Men In Black is one of my all time favorite movies and those really started my love for Will Smith, but this one is really good.

It wasn't really a reboot like what I was thinking. In some ways it was, like with a different cast and everything, but it's just a continuation because they go international this time. It was nice to have a female lead and someone who could take care of herself in the movie. I still kept picturing Thor with Chris, but guess that'll just take time to get over. He didn't do bad at all in the movie, just weird seeing him in a different character is all. Then I had no clue that Liam Neesan was in the movie. So nice to see him again as well.

It would have been fun to have had references from the past movies in this new reboot. I love it when they always bring up something from the past. But it's good at the same time, that they didn't. They really did make it their own. Ok, there are some things that you would pick up only if you watched the original movies a million times (wait should I be admitting that?), but they did a good job at not totally over doing it.

Is it my favorite? No, but I did enjoy it. Was I mad they were making another movie without Will Smith? Well, I think my thoughts are pretty clear on that so I won't go into anymore ranting about that. Would I recommend it if you are a major Men In Black fan? Yeah, I would. It was fun and it had all the feels for Men In Black. It just always irks me when they try to reboot a franchise with a different cast. Ok, I better just stop talking and end this. It was a fun movie and I don't regret seeing it. Perfect for the whole family.
